29. Talking About Your Feelings: Story
Brandon is a seagull. (1) He’s having some problems. Sometimes (2) he’s upset, sometimes he’s sad, sometimes he’s nervous, and sometimes he’s confused.

Brandon talks with (3) his friend Scott about his moods. (4) Scott says Brandon must be (5) tired and asks if he feels sleepy. Scott suggests (6) Brandon sleep more. (7)

Brandon talks with his friend Alice. Alice says that he seems (8) confused and unhappy. She asks him if he feels anxious. She suggests (9) that he take some time off. (10)

Suddenly (11) Brandon feels hungry and thirsty. He eats a cookie (12) and drinks some (13) lemonade. He turns on (14) the radio and listens to (15) some happy music.

Now (16) he’s not confused, or unhappy. He’s excited because he feels much better. (17) Everything is fantastic! (18) Eating helps! (19)

29. Talking About Your Feelings: Reading
Brandon is a seagull. (1) He’s having some problems. Sometimes (2) he’s upset, sometimes he’s sad, sometimes he’s nervous, and sometimes he’s confused.

Brandon is not happy! He has no idea what’s causing his problems.

Brandon talks with (3) his friend Scott about his moods. (4) Scott says Brandon must be (5) tired and asks if he feels sleepy.

Scott is a bear (6) and sleeps four or five months (7) every year. (8) He suggests (9) Brandon sleep more. (10)

Brandon talks with his friend Alice. Alice says that he seems (11) confused and unhappy. She asks him if he feels anxious.

Alice suggests that Brandon take some time off. (12) Alice has just returned (13) from a trip (14) to the Caribbean. She feels great! (15)

Suddenly (16) Brandon feels hungry and thirsty. He eats a cookie (17) and drinks some (18) lemonade.

Then he turns on (19) the radio and listens to (20) some happy music. It’s his favorite radio station.

Now (21) he’s not confused, or unhappy. Eating something (22) relaxing (23) and listening to his favorite music has really helped him! (24)

Brandon’s excited because he feels much better. (25) Everything is terrific again. (26)
